Lab requests

Ok, so I’m at my mom’s job, and she’s bitching about how these people are so stupid… she tells me about this paper, they state the type reason (wound, infection, that sorta thing)

Then they are suppose to put the patient sight, as in where the wound is located on the body…

The report she had in her hand said “surgery wound”

It gets better, another paper comes in… it’s a vaginal problem… patient sight… “ER hallway”.

I just thought that was funny and thought I would tell you the tale.

I dunno will. some of those papers could be worded differently.
theyre made by the med staff so naturally most of the staff knows what it means.

but the average patient?
its all greek.

honestly. on "patient sight" im liable to put "perfet 20/20" and then wonder what my vision has to do with it.

my mother speaks "greek"

she's a lab tech, her and her co-worker were laughing about it and she had to explain to me what patient sight was, but I understood the humor after I knew what was suppose to be down there

infact, I sat and watched her call up to get hte right information ont he first one... it was the right arm area *nods*

we have to fill out stuff like that when we get injured at work, and since i work in something very similar to a pshych ward with aggressive clients you can only imagine some of the shit those people probably hear from us.
