Limewire, Gnutella or Imesh

well there really is no 'safest' because you're always putting yourself at the mercy of whoever you're downloading from, meaning if someone is sharing an infected file and you download it, you got a virus, reguardless of the P2P you use to get it.

I've found the new kazaa lite to be reliable, but i think the best (and probably most difficult) way to go is to use bit torrents, just because you always know what you're getting.

you could try shareza, i've heard that's pretty good

it crashes my comp though so i wouldn't know. You get hook ups to all the kazaa networks as well as some others, so it sounds worth it

p2p means peer to peer software you can use them so you download stuff from other users. I use Imesh here, but a mte of mine uses LimeWire and James uses Gnutella.

Never ever ever get Kazza

bah. non-ktlite users. xP

sometimes e-mule does the trick. It runs through a number of servers, rather than just the one or two that most p2p networks operate on; thus it gives more of a variety of what you can get. Not to mention the speed, .. is actually really decent. The only downside i can think to this, is the actual variety. there's like, 3 or so million kazaa-morpheus server'd users, and mabye half that amount (methinks) that run through emule.

and then there's the warez thing you could do too. all just more programs that rely on users to share their shit. I speak illmetaphorically on that matter in general too.

For music, use soulseek.

http://www.slsknet.org

And for other files, I like using torrents.

I hate using Kazaa, or any variation of it. You can't get good results half of the time, and the thing is so virus-ridden it's hard to avoid them half of the time.

Only thing it's useful for is porn.

Torrents are delicious.

And Kazaa's good for another thing...Bunched-up Anime.

i tried warez...itrs cool for about 3 weeks...shareaza has served me welll for a few months now...and it hooks up to gnutella 1 and 2 and E-Donkey..and old server...has nothing to do with kazaa...xept people might use both and share the same folder, but thats it....no ads with shareaza so forget adaware...tho that is handy to have anyway....and any virus protection can be used by shareaza to scan files...its all configured in the settings...i'd go shareaza dude....

*NOTE....NOT KAZAA AFILIATED!*

Edit:Kaos good luck ridding urself of klite....it hids in ur files and keeps running the servers it installs without ur knlowedge.....spybot does a good job....but u gotta look for GAIN programs and the smallest files...constant scans for about 2 weeks or so will even tually fuck it off...but kazaa gets mighty pissed at the removeal of GAIN software so amke sure u rid kazaa first...its screw with ur comp otherwise...i had to perform system resotre many times
