Japanese Bands

From those killer tunes that you heard 6 years ago in the back of a mini bus, heading into Utah, or the songs that are on the radio now. This is the place. (No R&B please, because it doesn't exist)

You know, Jpop and Jrock.

Even though I prefer the latter.

I've been just recently getting into this genre of music, specifically the visual kei stuff. It's definately some interesting stuff, and sometimes it's an acquired taste but if you are looking for something different, go for bands in this genre.

My favorite so far are D'espairs Ray, Malice Mizer and Dir en Grey.

I'm not obsessed over the bands, but it's a good change of pace from the more mundane music I often hear.

The 5,6,7,8's where cool.

I like Utada Hikaru, she got me started on Jpop. Do as Infinity are good, Arc en Ciel, kanno yoko's stuff is fun.

They are the only 3 i really really like.

Visual kei rocks. I lean towards Dir en Grey, Malice Mizer, and Psycho le Cemu....

In the Jpop, I'd go more for Siam Shade, BoA, D-A-I, and L'arc~en~Ciel...

I'm more into the Japanese Indie scene rather than the VK scene although they do overlap at times. But I'm liking Acidman, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Fra-Foa, The Brilliant Green, Hyde and Shiina Ringo in the Jrock area

Pizzicato 5 are just ok. It gets a bit repetitive. Though "Twiggy Twiggy" is a very fun song.

I saw Kill Bill yesterday, and came to the conclusion that the 5,6,7,8s sound like Japanese White Stripes. Make any sense?

Idk if The Black Mages count but they still rock especially with Nobou Uematsu on keyboards. Why is he good at everything he does?

I've got a couple of Black Mages Tracks, mostly covers of FF-series battle themes, but badass nonetheless
