i class it as whats in the charts...but linkin park are always there...are they pop?...no they are shit!
I agree..

and that is what pop means popular... people dont use it to define music like that anymore.

thats like saying most of the bands on morbids lil list there are pop...

so britney spears is pop... dream theater is metal... u2 arent pop... but are popular. B)

am i making any sense...?!

Every genre out there is going to have it's popular bands, and it's obscure bands, just like when you hear "old school" metal, you automatically think of Black Sabbath or Metallica, but you don't really hear any other bands besides those two. just like you think of Dream Theater when you think of Metal. Never tried saying you were a teenybopper but damn the way you keep ranting like this trying to defend youself sure seems like one..

of course progressive metal is hype. you can't compare the range of lacuna coil to the range of gorillaz, but it's all pop.

if it's got a group of people that listens to it, it's pop.

perhaps in the past any music that was popular was considered pop, however teh term pop music now has a differen meaning. chart music is now the term that defines music that ha large groups off fans. if a band or groups album ends up in the chart they are using bygone standards pop music. however nowadays pop music is a term used to describe manufactured bands who sing other peoples songs example britney spears justin timberlake. just becuase metallica are popular doesnt make them pop.
