Just wondering what everybody thinks will be the next big thing in anime, the next big "hit" such as another Cowboy Bebop or *cough* Ranma 1/2 (only cause Will will say it's great).

I've heard good things about Steam Boy, a new feature length movie coming out. But I don't think I've seen a decent full length since Princess Mononoke. Spirited Away was okay, but I liked Totoro more than that actually . . .

Let me know what you all are thinking.

Whether you like it or hate it you can't agrue with the fact that Inyasha is the current top dog as far as money making and fame go. (lets see how many get the joke)

The problem with judging things based on Japan is that its hit and miss. Take Big O for example it bombed big in Japan but was a big hit here. Sadly though the truth is if you want to find the next big thing just look to see what they really push. Because people buy and believe what their told to buy and believe.

B) Inyasha isnt the current hit because it is just as good a Ranma and Ranma wasnt that great. I dont understand dustin what you are saying about Big O it suck here to because it SUCKS it doesnt change just because it goes to another country.

Possibly Samuria(sp?) 7 Just came out in jap a month ago. My cousin showed me a few minutes of it. he downloaded the first three eps that where subtitled.(just days after it was released)

I must be the only person in America that Likes Kiddy Grade. Hotter than hell in japan, but not here. oh well. Three more Dvd's. yay. Fuck the haters.

Inuyasha is good. don't see the prob with that. animation is nice.

Naruto!! I've heard about that anime and YES that is awesome! I got a chance to play the game the other day (my friend brought it back from Tokyo when he got back from his summer in Japan the other day). It's about a village of ninja's or something and they fight bad guys . . . lol, well, it's probably a mix between Roruni Kenshin, DBZ, and Inuyasha.

Inuyasha doesn't have the appeal . . . I mean something like Cowboy Bebop has a very good fanbase. Inuyasha is still in it's baby stages I think, and isn't really a mega hit in Japan.

But yes, Naruto! I think you're right that it will be the next big thing! Just wait until it comes out over here in the states!

Naruto?
sounds like that episode of south park where they bought ninja weapons.
one of the best episodes.

have many doubts an this Naruto thing.
honestly, if you stand back from it and take a look....

its ninja turtles without the mutant apeal.

I honestly have only played the video game and heard that it's REALLY freaking long, and has become more popular than DBZ was during it's heyday in Japan. It's something to look out for, and maybe even do some research on if you can find anything online.
