I always thought of gray squirrels as being patriarch males. Kinda like gray wolves being old sorcerers.

...and that's not weirdness, that's literacy.

Can anyone guess what sources I'm referencing?

red squirrels aren't so much a dying breed. arround here they're all either brown or red. never seen a gray squirrel.
