Renegade was the first C&C game EA Games made with Westwood. It was also went off the RTS style and went for a FPS, u were a commando called Havoc. Since then EA has helped Westwood make the C&C series like Generals, so what ever they did with Reneagde must of helped and Westwood must of liked the idea of having help.

If anyone is interested playin Don, he uses C&C Generals: Zero Hour

Westwood had finacial trouble and where bought out by EA
it has nothing to do with help

AirForce General has be the biggest bunsh of lies ever seen, the only way you can fight an air force gernal is with .. an air force general.

there planes avoid 75% of all AA fire and have 50% more health, some of them travel so fast they can't be hit by AA fire. There defensive turret take down all aircraft in one shot and most vechiles. You're only hope is to kill them in the first 5 minutes.

it is like StarCraft, you have food limits instead of regenerating ore fields you have to mine. China are humans, America is Protoss and GLA are zerg.

Can anyone get Internet play to work in the first Red Alert now? It used to work a year or so ago but I think that was before Westwood got eaten up by EA. Those EA bastards appear to have shut down the server. If I try with v3.03, it fails to connect. If I try with v1.08, I get a blank box. I am running in Linux but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Fuck. I had Red Alert 2 running on here but the anti-piracy crap is kicking in. Blows everything up after 30 seconds. And I have a legal copy! Gah. Stupid shitty copy protection. I've got an idea though, I'll try it tomorrow.

I am using an original, dumbass! :P That's what I said, I'm using a legal copy. It didn't work because Wine can't figure out the copy protection. But guess what. I cracked it! I tried cracking it last night but it didn't work. Seems to work now. Normally you'd have to copy the CDs to the hard drive and that takes up 1.1GB. A bit steep. But because it's Linux, I can simply symlink to the files on the CD. A symlink is like a shortcut on Windows but not as useless. :D Weee. It's a tiny bit slow though. More or less playable on 640x480. I might try it on my brother's machine and see if that's any better.

Ah actually it only works with the first CD in the drive because the crack assumes you have the files for the first CD present even if you've got the files for the second CD. No problem though. I'll copy the movie files from both CDs onto a single CD (I think they'll fit) and copy the rest of the stuff to the hard drive if that stuff doesn't fit as well.
