I like it.
Probably not everyone's tea cup, but its clearly mine.
Altered Carbon
Re: Altered Carbon
eh...
maybe spoke a little soon.
amazing scifi concepts keep the hook.
the story though, gets a little weak in the midpoint

Re: Altered Carbon
I was half paying attention to the pilot, thought I'd turned on the wrong episode, clearly a show I need to be paying attention for.
Re: Altered Carbon
Done.
I still like it...
Its got it problems, but their seems to be a lot of hate stemming from the fact that its "not the book."
Though honestly everything I'm hearing about the differences between the two, make me think the book may actually suck.
but just have the luxury of being a book, and allowing readers to craft their own flavor around it.

Re: Altered Carbon
That's always the problem with book vs interpretation, you form an image in your mind of what someone should look like then hate the casting cause it doesn't match what you thought.
Now, who fault is that? 98% your own, but people aren't great at accepting fault in general
I did it my self recently, with a book I'm reading, they describe an old man general knight, so in the minds eye I'm thinking something like this;
however there is official artwork and fan art and he actually looks like this
so fuck...
Also people don't understand that a good book does not a good movie make, Ready player one is due for release this year, it's a large book, but it's 90% description text and inner monologue, no-one is watching that shit.
Even in something as beloved as Game of thrones, they have dropped whole storylines and characters, because really who cares about the sidequests, as long as the emotional journey is intact, we can cut it for time.
