phpBB permissions are harder than long division
phpBB permissions are harder than long division
Took me almost ONE HOUR to figure out why guests couldn't see the forum. Jesus.
I thought I'd fixed that ages ago but turns out not.

By comparison, upgrading the board to 3.0.14 just now took less than 5 minutes.

I thought it was on purpose.

Re: phpBB permissions are harder than long division
It always confuses me how with each iteration the process becomes more difficult and manages to lose features as well.
I feel like for the most part it's went backwards from 10 years ago, could be nostalgia kicking me in the dick though

Re: phpBB permissions are harder than long division
3.1 was supposed to be this radical feature jump, I have it installed, I'm honestly not sure what changed.
Or maybe I'm confusing it with 3.2, I guess that will be out in 5 years or so, but then it seems to be a dying platform in general. I remember the days when I would browse around on about 10 or 11 forums (maybe actually post of one or two of them) but nowadays nobody seems that fussed in the longer form conversation #oldschool.
That said I've had some fun times on Facebook hidden groups but it's not the same.

Awww I tried to upgrade to PHP 7 today but not even 3.1 supports it, never mind 3.0. Will need to wait for 3.2. Luckily Gentoo supports older versions and even allows them side by side.

Nope. If I was to use something like that, it'd be Mumble. But I wouldn't use something like that.
Glad you like my fuckface.

Yeah, I'm on a discord chat for a Twitch stream of a friend of mine, it's a pretty cool setup.
I use Skype a lot for work.
