See, you've every right to leave bang on 6am. Don't stay there while 8 or 9 like a retard. And you're right about dayshift people whinging about getting off. I'm apparently supposed to be there 15 minutes before my shift. My boss took it up wiht me once and half the night staff ganged up on her and pointed out that we don't leave while 10:15 and that 15 minutes of our time every day is spent doing jobs we're supposed to do but don't get paid for.

So yeah, fuck em off and leave at 6, they can't stop OR fire you.

And u know me matt am to nice for my own good. Maybe the overtime ban has been lifted, and with this new swip card time in and out system i might see it in my payslips. If i could figure it out anyways lol

Yeah, me too, I'm really polite and nice to people, but I can soon get my nasty head on if I have to. I'd consider 2 hours unpaid overtime a real kick in the teeth, which would require a certain degree of shittiness on my part, directed at the establishment.

Gah, one bad thing about my job...I'm "supposed" to man the desk for 8 hours straight without any relief in the form of lunch breaks, smoke breaks (if you smoke) or pee breaks. If you get caught leaving the front desk unmanned you can get into trouble, but BOY if I go to pee, fuck that, I'm going to the restroom LMAO

I know over here if ur workin 6 hours ur entitled to 20 min break and if ur workin with VDUs u need a break fro them for 15 mins every 2 hours.

But in the US its totally different i think federal law states they dont need breaks. But am not sure on american law. Tho the better thing to do is talk to ur union. Most places have them.
