I forget sometimes, but only because I purposefully put off freezing stuff too early until I'm completely happy with it.

heh. im just the opposite.
with a primative cube instead of dialing up the subdivisions with the slider in the inital property window I'll freeze it and do it myself.

nothing new.
oh wait, got the hair back.
and ripped the hands from the AE models

sigh

and the back of the knee/calf area

and so much work done on the butt that the original shorts model doesnt work anymore so the ones there are a temp.

That's an improvement, I think. You've gone from definitely fake to not so sure.

ok I think thats the low poly stuff is fairly done.

now for all the detials.
this part might go slower cuzz I'm learning a new program as well, but it seems simple enough, so maybe it wont be too long.

SWEET

ok.

I've been playing around a little...

I got some cool results, but still not quite right.

Image

Image

the muscular detail of the front and sides came out pretty well I'd say.

however nothing else really did.

The legs didnt go over, and actually look worse then before.
luckily the shorts are covering up the terrifyingly scary parts.
In the upper thigh she looks like a zombie or somthing in in the lower thigh and below she looks boxy and theirs barely in detail at all there.

Also, almost nothing on the back and lower back went over very well, its almost like i didnt touch it at all.

The arms look like I was afraid to do anything to them at all (and I was)

but I'm still impressed with muscle detail in the core area. theirs even a belly button, but the stupid shorts cover it up.

unfortuantly, because I was using a shitty work flow, I cant just go back and fix whats wrong. I have to do the the whole thing over again and pray I can stirke gold again on the core...or better.

attaching some bigger shots....

The thighs look fine to me. I'm not sure why zombie thighs would be any different from normal thighs except for maybe a hint of leprosy. I just think the elbows and knees need to be a bit more pronounced.

the next shot is my playing around...
which also doesnt quite fit

bottom line, I'm gonna have play stylist for a bit.
I may do this before I get back to the muscle definition.

Just practicing some video, using the already rigged and easy to animate Aten, so I know what to do when i comes time to get the new chick sorted out.

Video

Gonna need to play with some stiffness settings, cuzz as it is now, the hair is like wet noodles.

hell be the designated crash dumy from here on out i guess.

definatly net a hair style he'll be keeping, but teamate Kendra might benefit from an adaption. but thats for another time and another project.

so hows the (non hair) animation?
Does he look like he's got an urge to kill stuff?

edit: this ones a a bit better but tits not worth much

Don't think I've seen you properly animate a character before. That's really good. Let the killing commence. :D

Update...

didnt do anything at all the whole weekend, and i had a meeting on monday and an orchestra concert after that.

however I did discover a new workflow for detailing muscle forms that I think yeilds some good results. but first I want to get back to hard modeling anf fix a few things.

for instance I would like the eyes to blink via shape animation rather than have a separate mesh for the eyelids.

i wanna throw away some of the polys i have in the ear, cuzz its almost rediculous how much the ears slow down my pc when subdivided

I'm also detaing on weather or not to cut out completely parts of the mesh you'll never see. so i can speed up the render time.

The hair collides with his face weirdly on the right hand side, only really noticable on the slower version.

The ready stance is good put you stop mid swing, if that the hit to a target, it's not a strong blow and it's flat side of the blade, so it'll still hurt I guess. Personally, with a weapon that large in bulk I'd have used an assistance of the other hand, at least early swing.
