So apparently quicktime 'expires'. I didn't know this, i just went to play a file that uses the format and it refused saying i needed to re-download the player

Now that's annoying enough, but it gets better. I went to the website to download it, and apparently the only way you can download the free version of quicktime is if you get it bundled with I Tunes, and you can't install one without the other. It's completely crap.

i don't fucking WANT Ituens, hell i don't even want quicktime, i just keep it around in case i need it (which i hardly ever do)

so screw it. It sucks anyway. I guess if i'm supposed to watch something in the Quicktime format, i'll just have to not do it.

i'm still pissed though.

Use VLC. It's awesome and plays like every format out there ... well almost.

VLC rocks.

Quicktime Alternative's supposed to be good too.

Man I hate quicktime! I'm not sure I've ever had a working version. We just use windows meda and we also have divx. Works fine for us.

I love being able to switch between subtitles and in between English and Japanese on my VLC. Plus full screen mode! YEAH!

you can uninstall itunes after you install it, but you have to install both in order to update quicktime. It's still bullshit if you ask me. I was debating trying out I-Tunes a little while ago, but they've managed to convince me to stay away from it with this little stunt.
