The rumors come from an interveiw with tetsuya nomura on Kingdom Hearts 2.
one of the questions asked was that since the techdemo was shown at e3, did square have any plans to really go forward with a ff7remake
The answer was No.
However nomura also went on to say that he'd like to do it provided he had the time, unfortunatly he's got a few years worth a work lined up ahead of that project.
so people heard what they wanted to hear, and blatantly ignored the rest of the interview.
as for it being on x360.
probably not.
But that probably comes from squareenix announcing that theyd like to do more crossplatform titles. im suspect the only square title you'll see on it tho will be ff11
by the way it aparently takes about 19million bucks just to start development for a ps3 project. and its been around sites recently that lots of developers like the lower cost and ease of use in developing for the x360
that 19mill figure probably isnt right.
but i bet theirs some truth inside of it. We tried to get setup a while back.
you need an engine.
then you need the engine kit/tools for the specific platform
then you need to buy a license for whatever platform you want to develop for.
the prices for each stage are higher that cheech & chong.
