Heres my take

Ok, so I've played a DS in the shops and someone was at my mates the othernight and he had a PSP, Imported from America me thinks. I have to say, the DS is childsplay compared to the PSP, not because I'm a fanboy, because the DS looks like a small plastic toy, compared the PSP sleek design, the Graphics on the DS weren't anything to get excited over, the game consisted of throwing a ball at tin can <_< .

The PSP, looked fancy, had a large screen, the buttons felt so much better, more responsive than the dodgey feeling ones of the DS. It shows how much money Sony put into this. It had afirewire connection for a PS, easily compatable with WMP to upload songs, and or just with Windows to stick on the odd video or two. I can't remember how much space it had, but he had around 10 MP4 songs on there, he said he couldn't be bothered with more, the sound was great, no games tho :(

Overall, I'll give a DS another go, but I definatly wont be buying one, it lacks in quality and playability

but you can TOUCH IT!

lol,

you've also got to consider two things, people who own one of those lunchbox video game things might like the DS because of the compatibility, it's cheeper, and you can play ALL the Nintendo Game Boy games on it (from first gen if i'm not mistaken)

still though, i'll agree, though i'll miss Zelda for sure :(

Thats not bad at all, lol gameboy upgrade.

Compared to the PSP, just on looks and features, it doesn't hold a candle :(

Depending how much money I got left over from my Birthdayy, I might very well just buy one *still wants to finish pokemon silver >.<*

But I'm not planning to buy a PSP, price depending, if they are out for my borthday, might wait until they drop conciderably, Its agreat little peice of technology, but theres no way I'm paying full whack for the thing, its not worth that much

if i remember (this is coming from the top of my head, so i might be wrong)

DS - just over 100 bucks, maybe 150

PSP - 300 and change

that's QUITE the price difference. And while that's DEFINATLY ballpark, are the features of a PSP really worth DOUBLE the price of a DS?

Over here, PSP release = £150

Over ehre PS2 release = £300

Yes it is worth it in my opinion, the console is just far superior to the DS in many ways.

It can be argued that the DS has this and that and they don't use it, but thats just either bullshit or stupid. One, why put something so good into a machine, to deny its usage? I call bullshit, either that or incredibly stupid.

If its out here by my birthday, I might get one. depends really on the games, if they suck, fuck it, I'll just buy a USB stick and be done with it

I got the DS at the weekend and think its great the only down side it can't play 1st gen and GBC games only the GBA ones. I like the looks of PSP and will maybe get one too and have the best of both worlds.

Meh, I'm still gonna give it a shot, but I'll but my bottom dollar (just a saying) that the PSP has more advanced technology in there.

Both cost $150. BUT at the moment you can only buy the PSP bundles. This is what you get with the normal Bundle: Includes a special UMD video of Spider-Man 2, sampler movie/music/game UMD disc, 32MB Memory Stick Duo, headphones with remote control, battery pack, AC adapter, soft case and cleaning cloth.

Now if your buying the bundles off the net they give you more items, 3 games(of choice for most) and a few other things.

DS doesn't do bundle, why it's sticking to it's regular price.

I'm getting a PSP first, nintendo's starting to bore me. i haven't played my GBA Sp or GC in a month. only a a few games for them complared to my PS2.

DS only has 2 games i'd play. right now thats not enough. PSP has a bigger line up of games i'm interested in playing with a lot more options like MP3's, Movies, Playing online stuff i probally won't know until i buy one. I don't wanna hear how DS is getting online and mp3 stuff later this year, they should of had that stuff in before it was released since they probally already knew what the PSP would have.

But, the DS is better because the portable playstation isn't a gaming console and the DS is

Your just a Nintendo fanboy trying to make up excuses why the DS is better, we've heard it all and it's rather sad hearing the same excuses over and over again. Both are gaming Systems, Both will play MP3, Both willl Be online, But unfortunatly the DS will not play Movies. PSP is pratically already Sold out. PSP has a better line up than the DS. I have not seen one interesting game on the DS.

From what I understand... both the DS and the PS have alot of problems...

The PSP has hardward issues... You have to have something to download the movies on and shit (and you have to get a 512 to get a complete movie or something... and even 3rd party producers of those things are expensive as hell)... and the battery life isn't that great

however... I played the DS... and it's controlls are awkward... and flat out fucking suck...
