Darwin Award

Post by Chewi » Tue Mar 18, 2014 1:37 pm

This is a whole new form of entertainment. I'm sat at my desk at work and I've got a direct view of a guy in the process of earning himself a Darwin Award. He's fixing a window on a high roof with no safety equipment whatsoever. He recently dropped something off the roof by mistake and peered over precariously to see where it landed. It now looks like he's locked out and waiting for someone to notice. This is taking a while so he's having a smoke in the meantime.

I once tried to replace a motor in a vacuum without unpluging it, I was like 'wow my arm is tingling all weird... oh shit',

lucky it's not that high voltage.

I repeatedly have to ask people to please not remove the magnetron from their microwaves, it's pretty dangerous even after it's unplugged as it can still hold charge for long time, few deaths have happened that way.

They don't look as cool as they sound

It basically makes the waves, it's the primary component of the device really.

I disagree, that looks pretty badass. It looks like the key component to a doomsday device.

Tide pods are in, we should probably make an actual darwin award.

Yeah, I read about those. I think this is an all new low for human intelligence.

Setting records in the wrong direction for sure, but never underestimate the capacity for stupidity when it comes to people, I’m sure there’s more facepalms to come this year.

I've always been a Daz Ultra man myself, summer meadow is my favourite flavour.
