Apparently Sony have just licenced/patented a new way of of processors, 12 or something.

Having recently been playng an hexbox at Lynns. I want one for the Oddworld series, but the controllers still suck badly, they've been hurting my thumbs (bah, no arguements, in my opinion they fucking hurt)

Either way, it now depends on the titles for me. I'll be buying a PS3 no matter what.

Nintendo going back to carts is suicide.

What plays DVDs no extras now goat? The X-Box? hmm cool. U playin the new oddworld shin? Its pretty good eh. I think the X-Boxes processor is using a triple core processor or something i will get back to yas on it.

I agree shin, thats why the N64 didnt do that will. But i got hold of a rumour sayin that its gonna be a smaller type of cartagle.

I havent heard much about Sonys latest Patients apart from the new tech where they can beam images directly into the brain. Saw on CNN
LONDON, England (Reuters) -- If you think video games are engrossing now, just wait: PlayStation maker Sony Corp. has been granted a patent for beaming sensory information directly into the brain.

The technique could one day be used to create video games in which you can smell, taste, and touch, or to help people who are blind or deaf.

The U.S. patent, granted to Sony researcher Thomas Dawson, describes a technique for aiming ultrasonic pulses at specific areas of the brain to induce "sensory experiences" such as smells, sounds and images.

"The pulsed ultrasonic signal alters the neural timing in the cortex," the patent states. "No invasive surgery is needed to assist a person, such as a blind person, to view live and/or recorded images or hear sounds."

According to New Scientist magazine, the first to report on the patent, Sony's technique could be an improvement over an existing non-surgical method known as transcranial magnetic stimulation. This activates nerves using rapidly changing magnetic fields, but cannot be focused on small groups of brain cells.

Niels Birbaumer, a neuroscientist at the University of Tuebingen in Germany, told New Scientist he had looked at the Sony patent and "found it plausible." Birbaumer himself has developed a device that enables disabled people to communicate by reading their brain waves.

A Sony Electronics spokeswoman told the magazine that no experiments had been conducted, and that the patent "was based on an inspiration that this may someday be the direction that technology will take us."

wow porn straight in to the brain .... where do i sign up for being a test subject ^^

Well i got some more news.

PS3 - Sony has been workin with a few big names ... IBM and Toshiba workin on the new chip ... a processor of course which there hopfully gonna use. A cell processsor .. The chip is reported to be up to 10 times faster than current processors. Sony has said the Cell processor could be used to bridge the gap between movies and video games. I've heard the SDK is out to some developers buit there having to wait. Cause they want to know more about this Cell processor

X-Box - Xenon will be powered by a three core 3.5+ GHz IBM PowerPC processor and a 500+ MHz ATI graphics processor. And its seems that a SDK is already out ... but for Macs ... they say there testing an game on a G5 lol werid

Nintendo - Its not carts but medium is 2-sided 8cm disc, 5.4GB capacity, in a shellcase ... the mini disc idea. But the rumours about the controller is the best bit. The whole controller is pressure sensitive. So rubbing can be done with the buttons or via grip.

No I've been playing Munch's Oddysee. Downloaded the video for "Strangers Wrath"...I saw it in Blockbuster but got the first one instead, I gotta say, it looks great.

X-Boxes proved their worth to me now, still the pads hurt my thumb. the buttons were too hard.

Thats what I've read about the PS3, the cell processors, 12 times faster.

Eitherway, its about the titles for me. I'll be buying a PS3 because I'm a "fanboy" of Sony. I like their consoles. But I'll buy others cash depending and title depending.

I'm gonna buy an X-Box at some point
