an interesting idea... well with a point man like that, you can't go wrong. It's like, if it's even a remote possibility to create a company that can survive totaly on creating video game soundtracks, he'd be the man to pull it off.

seriously, i've heard really good composers, some that might even be better, but none of them have a name that carries as much weight as Umatsu. People that don't even play the games know that name.

its quite easy really, he has an orcestra, he can just contract himself out to games, like harry gregson williams (i think his names is) who worked on film soundtracks, he has his own orcestra, or at least one he uses, Hideo kojima called him for the MG series, same with uematsu

and the MGS soundtrack kicked ass. NU does have a cd out called the the Black Mages. its just FF music redone with guitars and NU himself on keyboards

ah, i've got one of those albums... it's allright, nothing mind-blowing. There were a couple of REALLY good tracks, but the CD as a whole is just kinda... bah
