an odd FF7 question

Everything from Console, PC & Handheld. This is the place your none On-line Graphic related play things go.

ok so i just started playing FF7 again and i realized something, fury dosn't really seem to be a bad thing.

fury is that condition that makes your limit gauge fill up much faster then it normaly would. Now considering the way you unlock limit attacks is by 1; using the limit techniques, and 2; scoring kills with characters, it seems logical that this would make unlocking the more difficult techniques easier, as well as using them. However, the manual and all the guides i've read seem to list this as a bad thing, but i really don't see the harm in it. Sadness (a condition that does the opposite) is obviously a bad thing, but i really don't see the harm in fury.

anyway, if i'm missing something here, somebody needs to tell me, cause as it is i'm pissing off all my characters in an attempt to learn the limit breaks faster.

Either it reduced normal attack damage or it gave you a higher chance of missing. Maybe both.

I just looked it up. I got kinda confused. Your miss rate does go up but your normal attack damage actually doubles. It's sadness that makes your normal attack damage decrease. So seemingly the only bad thing is the increased chance of missing. Apparently it tells you this in the manual.

I didn't mess with it much, but I remember at one point using fury in the early game, around Midgar. I think it helped me a lot. I don't remember how bad my hit rate got but I do remember being pleased with it overall. I didn't even know it raised your limit gauge faster.

I thought it made you take more damage. But it's been a while since I played it. I was always using hypers on my characters to help learn limit breaks.

Fury does indeed increase the damage you recieve from attacks but i used it regardless cuz thats what Cure materia is for.
