Costume Parties

I swear that now i'm grown up I've been to more Dress up parties then when I was a child. Pimps and Ho's, Mafia, 80's, Anything starting with the letters A, B or C, Traffic light parties.

So how many of these...delightful events have you been too? What did you go as? Do you go full hog or go in normal clothes and refuse to go to the effort?

My housemate is having a Wizards, Witches and Warlocks dress up party in a couple of months and I was looking for ideas. The main inspiration of course was Harry potter (anyone seen bagging Harry Potter in this thread, YES WILL THIS MEANS YOU will have there posts edited, i'm looking for ideas not criticism.)

I kind of wanted something unique, dressing in black and getting a witches hat is sort of boring. It's also kind of hard since that whole sort of genre isn't really lending itself to my colouring, I'd love to go in a full skirted dress with the embrodiery and wide sleeves etc, but it's just kind of look wrong.

Anywho dress ups? You play?

I havent been to any myself.
Evilmatt on the other hand has probably been to every one on the west coast on then some.

try some long black (biddy) stockings.

and with whatever you decide on...no matter what it is. add gloves.
theyre excellent. they make your hands all clumsey, but they look great!
even if its just one glove. (the spell castin hand)

and if you know how to get some fake tattoos made. im willing to pop open illustrator for you.

Ha. Thanks for the credit Johnny. My friends and I love theme parties. I didn't dress up for all of these but they were good ideas.

My favorite was the pirate party. There's nothing more fun than a gang of pirates running around drunk.

Gothic Death Ball (based off of Adam's Family, and other creepy relations)
Summer Love Party
Snowflake Ball (another wiccan gathering)

for the Harry Potter party i wore a nice long deep purple drss, it had matching see-through sleeves with a black/silver spider web looking cloak...and i just broke off a twig from my front yards oak tree for my wand...and i used my mothers old broom, oh and i hade my goddess symbole necklace on...just sharing my costume for it to help you out some girl
