Fighting for what you believe in
I think it is important, I mean I'm a christian so I believe in the live, death, and resurrection of Jesus. I don't shove my believes down others throats, but if someone was to go and try to discredit my believes, I will defend them to my last dying breath. IF you believe in something whole heartedly, then yes, defend those beliefs.

the statement of fighting for what you believe in should only be questioned as to the extent of how well it is 'believed'.
If you have to ask yourself whether or not it's a good idea to commit a murder just to save someone's life, then it's excuseable. but if your commiting murder, for say, he or she stole something little from you, then it's obvious.
