I'm working on another hopeful project this month that will be presented at some toy event.

event goes down in exactly 1 month.
project goes public soon in September.

anyway, here's what I've been able to pull off with weak and broken tools.

Image

I was shooting for the 500 poly mark.
but I didnt figure out the hands very well.
cuzz the hands take about 270 polys each.

so its at about 1200 with no clothes on.

I'll probably add 300 on to that with face/ears

Not bad considering. What's the ETA on new tools?

Eve arrives...

Might need more boob help. Again.
But that'll come later.
(besides, I'd need to supply better shots first)

I really miss photoshop.

characters in this project are meant to mimic the art of Joe Madureria (ultimates Vol 3 / battlechasers) & Mark Bagley (ultimate spiderman)

so the textures would be simple, bright colored, with lots of gradient and gradual transitions between colors.
cuzz photorealism sucks ass on low poly models in my opinion.

Nice, the proportions look like something out of ultimate spiderman, is that what you're going for? What do you mean by broken tools anyway?

A laptop with a crap screen size, that crashes or refuses to perform operations every 2 to 5 minutes.

Yeah, the look is what I'm going for. the project is some kind of MMO, (not the gaming kind) and as far as I know those things tend to look boring and bland. I think part of the reason WoW works (even tho its a different class of mmo) might be due to the large pull away from reality, so I'd like to inject some of that here.

the next 2 character types are going to be a bigger (maybe muscular/ maybe fat) male and a thicker curvier female. I'm hoping the look really comes together after that.

and if I have time, I might ad a 5th body type, somthing like the taru-taru.
a "creature" type running around among humans, and fitting in naturally, would really drive the fantasy element home.

Didnt sign any NDA's so I guess this is safe.

This is for another project...not one of mine.
someone else draw the concept.

I basically adapted one of my previous models and build a new head.
Its not done. and unfortunatly it just got a priority tag. so it cant go back to the others till this one is done. should be long tho. and i been wanting to do some texturing anyway.

the concept art

with even further adjustments I may do something similar for the bigger male body type model I'm planing. I'll have to study up on Madureira heavy characters. (his venom might be too much.)

If the firemen round here looked like that, they wouldn't keep getting attacked.

Yeah, you get a lot of twats in Britain, particularly in Scotland, who think it's funny to attack firemen. They're usually the ones that call them out as well.
