just a bit tho

theirs a cliping error
and evidence that my pc crashed while rendering part of it, which reset some of the envelope weights.

Sweet! I've watched it several times and I can't see the clipping error. What are envelope weights? Sounds like another Royal Mail price hike to me. :P

I assume you know what 'bones' and a 'skeleton' are right?

well an envelope is the mesh...as it 'envelopes' those bones.

weighing the envelope is when you assign each vertex of the mesh to a bone or bones(s) via percentage.

for example in this rig(skeleton+weights etc) there is no knee bone.
so while the vertex's in the thigh are weighted nearly 100% the the femur
and the whens in the lower half of the leg are weighted nearly 100% to the shin...

the vertex in the middle, where the knee should be are weighted to both the shin and the femur at different percentages.

so that the lack of a knee isn't so obvious.

the clipping error...
right arm slides right thru the knee during the crouched landing.

I think im going to try and make a costum rig with a knee bone now.

I'm so scattered and all over the place this week.
I have no focus. Im not even sure when exactly i made this model.

today was spent laying out the UV map for texturing.
but not so muxh actual texturing.

so heres the days result.

ps you can see a prime example of shitty envelope weighting all over this model...especially the elbow. it wasnt the focus today so i didn't bother to fix it.
