going to try to make a character with a very ectomorpic body type.

I've always hated how the male characters in most western games looked like body builders with bulky and ridiculous armor.

that shit needs to stop

anyway I do have a sketch if what the end result is to be based on.
but If i posted it now it would spoil the the surprise on how this is going to turn out.

those hands look like forks.

this is what i got so far,

this will have to be a practice run, because I forgot to mirror the right arm and chest.
so they look pretty plain in comparison to the rest of the upper body.

things look a little out of proportion becuase I dont know how to turn on perspective camera. and by defualt im stuck with an orthgraphic veiw. (basicly that means distance of objects dont matter...only their size)

Orthographic views are really weird. I could only think of one useful application for them and I've forgotten what it was.

You'll be pleased to know I came back to my machine, stopped the screensaver, saw the legs at the top of the browser and thought they were real for a split second.

Excellent start Johnny. I think the problem with the hands on this one are just a few proportions. The fingers might need shortening, and where the palm meets the wrist (like the heel if it was a foot) goes back into the wrist too far, it should be level with the base of the thumb.

I really should start a project soon. I've not really done a proper one in 3D I'm happy with yet.

Thumb is too small. Palm is too big. Make those better proportioned and you're set.

Looks much better now. It's hard to tell with the palm so far seeing as you're going to be sculpting the detail into it. I'd fatten the finger and thumb tips, but I imagine you've got sculpting to do on those too, with the nails. The wrist looks good on the right arm, a little thin on the left. Might just be the angle though.

i was a bit anxious to start.

I did a bit on the wrist but nothing on the hand just yet.
been focused on the arm

figured id sculpt the fingers...I may hate that decision later.

It looks really nice, can't wait to see how it'll look in the end.
