Two big shots.

I was playing around with the shader a bit.
this first image is done similar the stylized coloring I saw in a book i recently read.
I like this shot. but its a shame I don't have rig setup so I could have her looking upward at the viewer.

1st image

the second image is probably close to what the final will look like.
only I'm having a problem figuring out why the light is changing the skin tone so much. in the texture its clearly a black chick, in the render tho its a racially ambiguous chick with a tan.

2nd shot

few tweaks to fix it and I'll start texturing everything else.

Spent most of the day making new clothes...

All new boots
New shorts, complete with seams and wrinkles and belt loops.
and a belt.

tried to kick up the detail on these in hopes that more detail would make a bigger impact when translated over to the ink.
and I think it did.

heres the lambert shaded version with a quick final gather.
The empress's new threads

and here is the same model inked.
Ink Solo

it should look pretty good when I go over certain areas...again... and apply the cell shader.

yeah. I kinda do...

Still not final, but this is about as close to final as it may get for a little while.

the good:
She's got new hair. the curls are thicker and more controlled this time around.
The skin color is just right now.
the bad:
The mouth ink needs fixing...possibly its own shader separate from the rest of the body.
I cant figure out how to make one object reject shades from another object. its either all or nothing so far...so theirs a lot of shadowing on the face from the hair that I didn't want.

Messin around...

The stealth camo in Conan was awesome.... So I had to try it out.
I also started rigging the model as well. but Theirs a shit load of kinks that need to be worked out before it can be taken seriously.

I'm also thinking about reworking the sword.
maybe just scaling it down to a proper size for a single hand.

Image

I also need work on the hair more.
she only has 200 strands of hair.
so in certain shots you can see thin areas.

however any more than 200 and things start getting crowded and slow to render.
texturing the scalp may be a good idea

Now THAT'S awesome. The pose and the camo makes all the difference. I think that modelling pose you usually use is really off-putting but I guess it has to start out like that really.

The orgy/ The kitchen great song.

If it's dark enough you can be wearing bright yellow it's still a bitch to see. The sword blows land comically short at time but I like this film cause there really isn't any fancy sword play, it's brutal and agressive, win or die shots.

nearly half the book "How to draw comics the marvel way" (the best book ever) is dedicated to poses static vs dynamic poses.

It's what puts the character in a character pretty much.
especially when extended to animation.

I had begun writing a paper on character customization a long while back. and chosing things like posture, gestures, and and basic animations were all user chosen things in the the character creation process.

That was about a year and a half ago...

I thought I'd have seen it done by now.
but if things keep going the way they do I might be the first guy to get around to doing it.

Yeah. brutal brutal brutal show.
It was brought to my attention that the movie has no one liners.
every bit of dialog is meaningful. I like the honesty and sense of realism and seriousness that carries over in that.

but I have seen cases were the lack of humor was almost to much to bare....
the matrix.

i thought the second and third matrix movies were pretty much a joke by themselves.
