Did you clean it up in photoshop?
it looks really clean

like you either cleand it up in photoshop or really really stressed over the original linework.

id like to see a version before cleaning, if you have one.
If you did clean it up I'm thinking that you may have inadvertently erased away lots of the detail that went into it.

for a sketch I think its good to have some left over details and stray marks. somtimes it can help to give a sense of light values.

I think somthing this clean would be more for the begining stages of a full digital color piece. were the details would be added back in with the paints.

anyway.
good work. post more often
this forum is slow

Actually... my scanner simply removes alot of shading... I don't like that about it becuase it DOES remove detail...

Prime example,

This picture is alot darker in paper format, but I'd say about 60% of the shading has been lightened and removed.

ah, the scanner thing. I hate that.
somtimes you can counter that with Ctrl + M

but somtimes that just makes it crap too.

Also something good to get into the habit of doing is to scan in at a high resolution and reduce the image size once you've cleaned it up.

yeah.
about 300 dpi = perfect scale print
so i like to scan at 600 or 900 sometimes.

75 dpi should do if its somthing youre not going to print

That's why I never saw the point in 9000 dpi scanners or whatever they have now. What are you trying to scan in, an atom? My scanner is ancient but it does the job great and it's really thin, which is handy.

Yeah. You can easily carry it under your arm. Some of them are real chunky bastards.
