my ability with it right now is very low...
but give it a month and it'll be better.

video

the video is of the same guy from the last animation test.
parts of it still look 3d, but thats my fualt for skinning it the way i did. I'd have remade the video correctly....but rendering this little clip took from 11pm to 330am

so no.

nextime i show some toon shaded stuff youre likely to see little red....or big bad

tester. not even close to final. i'll probablt end up rebuilding the entire model

I think im gonna save the axe for , for when the final character model is near complete.

tristan could star her like i did.

well i dunno.

theirs this word TOON shading.
ehich i belive is essentially the same exact thing as CELL shading.

save for one thing

cell shading = realtime (wind waker vide game)
toon shading = pre renderd (ghost in the shell tv series)

things look a bit smoother in toon shading, but thats purely becuase you can do what ever you like without limitation, cuzz it doesnt have to be done in realtime.

cool

i gotcha.

still though, isn't it esentially a 3d model either way? true its use is different, but they both come from the same thing, so if i'm not mistaken, it's really not that much different at all

but i see your point, good for concept / graphic art, shitty for in game, fully rendered realtime stuff.

yeah its still just a 3d model. but the way i see it is you can sketch a character animation frame by frame, or you can make a character model, animate it and be done with.

here is an exmaple of some toon shading work from a guy I may eventually end up working on projects with.

the full trailer is much better, but its not offered online, its somthing he was only showing at the IGDA converence.
