You remember them, they are those things that cavemen used before they invented fire and iPads.

I've been trying to take a crack at Dante's inferno, the divine comedy, or whatever its called...before EA and the movie industry make a combined effort to mess it up.

But I cant get into it.
I can read Shakespeare with no problems.

But the way this thing is worded makes me feel like I have super-dyslexia.

Crapola it's been a while since i wrote in here!

The dark angel triology - Brent Weeks :The main character isn't actually very enthralling... a little too emo...even by my standards, his squeeze is even more annoying... but the secondary characters are fascinating. I love Vi. Love love love. Also love Durzo and Mama K. There is a lot of stuff i felt was missing and the ending does not feel Closed. Which is irritating.

Victory of Eagles - Naomi Novak: ~sigh~ I'm getting a little bored with these books, the first book was enchanting and delightful and still is. But it's being getting progressively more 'meh'.

Mercedes Lackey/james Mallory -Phoenix reborn et al. It feels alot like the other books , slightly less annoying. A nice light read

Kate Elliot - the spirit gate etc.... Intriguing... but very difficult to read. Been getting bored of it easily. Which is bad since i borrowed it from the library!

The Borne Queen - Greg Keyes: I liked it...but not sure if i loved it. I'm going to have to reread all of the series once i get a copy for myself.

Kuchiels Mercy- Jacqueline Carey I was waiting FOREVER to get my hands on this. Like in her first trilogy...this book went somewhere I did not expect at all. It was hard to believe the premis of some of it, but i felt it was neatly done. I am anticipating putting this on the bookshelf.

The tainted - Glenda Larke - by some wierd osmosis i managed to pick myself up a signed copy for $3.... i remember why i love this series sooo much...going to have to find me a copy of the second to complete the triology.
Trudi Canavan(sp?) her Magiciant triology...it was ok...not fabulous...sort of regret buying the triology. That said.... she has a new book set in the world i will probably read...because i do that.
Oh...I was on a ban from buying new books....but that sort of went fizzle.... but i have been a good girl and using the library to save money.

Got about 7 books in my 'to Read' pile

Iain Banks - Matter

Got about 250 pages deep into this bad boy atm, it's confusing, Fantasy writers (in this case it's scifi too I guess) seem to love throwing the million and one overly long and hard to remember names at the reader.

His name was Awpargahtar dai'longair Medama keanrfrofmnwendian from Stoke, it's like fuck ...

I'm reading X-men Essentials #4 at the moment. It's getting really good now that I'm into the 80's. I believe I just made it to 1982. The Brood Story Arc is amazing!

I was reading Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Actually it's a good book, worth the read...but don't believe the stupid preppy fans that overkill it.

I'd been wondering whether that was crap or not after noticing it in the shops a few times. Not that I'd read it or anything.

I actually read J.D. Salinger's Catcher In The Rye recently. It's a classic that had been on my to-read list for a while. I'm too tired to discuss it now but I meant to mention it weeks ago so there we are. Bleh.

Personally I think it's worth a read. It really is the stupid fans that ruin it. I don't think it would be to your personal taste. Although, you did suprise me that you like Donny Darko tbh. Give it a go, you might enjoy it.

New Moon - Stephanie Meyer

Okay this book is already starting to piss me off some. Again, Meyer over explains things that don't need to be explained, yet rushes the important plot. I read on her site that she can't do a short story, that she rambles off topic. Yeah you don't say! I'm sorry but she isn't a great story teller, and all of this is over hyped. Most of it not to her own doing, sure, but I'm fed up of seeing "Team Edward" or "Team Jacob" floating around.

Marna read all those books in the space of a week. She reads crazy fast. She was partially driven by the need to get to a sex scene and was rather disappointed when she found one. I said "It's primarily aimed at teens, what were you expecting, a porno?"

I'm not suprised for some reason, get to caught up in it and you think it's a good idea. But hey, if Mik ever decides to read the books and get a "Team Jacob" shirt I will have to kill him. Chances are he won't for some reason, lol :P

But nah, the whole series pisses me off on many levels, and you know what? It's not actually that deserving of this whole hyped bullshit. On the other hand the plot is great. Seriously, it's well thought out. Unlike the movie where the director turned it into a "can't be arsed" horror movie. I never got the impression from Twilight that it should be, so yeah book is waaay better than the movie. Well I like it when James's head got ripped off by Alice. Lol, that sounds uncanny don't it Chewi :P

No I can see where Marna is coming from on this. The sexual tension drove me crazy (well anything to do with sex would am just like that >.>). But no, am glad Meyer didn't decide that Edward and Bella should have a sex scene. I mean Bella's a virgin, this is her first boyfriend, and lets face it the girl is clinically depressed (and odd). Ya know she's practicarly me except that I happen to be an extrovert!

Fuuuck. Marna's scaring me again. I was looking at CAD and LICD and she said "I'm surprised they haven't taken the piss out of Twilight yet." Then I went to XKCD...
