Songs that have meaning

From those killer tunes that you heard 6 years ago in the back of a mini bus, heading into Utah, or the songs that are on the radio now. This is the place. (No R&B please, because it doesn't exist)

i'll keep it simple. If a song means something to you, post it. With a description of what it reminds you of or makes you feel if you should be so inclined.

The Offspring - Dirty Magic (an ex girlfriend)

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (a very good friend)

The Wallflowers - 6th avenue heartache (my best friend all through highschool. She fell for some guy who hated me and we stopped talking just before i left for college. I haven't heard from her since)

Green Day - The whole fucking dookie album (Good times in High School. I was the drummer in a garage band. I must have listened to that album just about every day

Guardian - Do you know? (probably the first hair band i liked, too bad they sucked. This song reminds me of this girl i was obsessed with for years)

edited the post. If i come up with any more i'll make a fresh post. Feel free to do the same guys.

the beatles' white album reminds me of watchmen, and watchmen reminds me of the white album. when i read one, i listen to the other.

genesis' ripples reminds me of this girl that slipped through my fingers when i was 14.

fleetwood mac's songbird reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.

the stone roses' very best of, toirtoise's TNT were with me when i began living on my own.

simon and garfunkel's bridge over troubled water reminds me of a couple of my best friends, for obvious reasons.

there's so much more...

close yet far - cky was the only cd i had for ages after mum kicked me out, this and a very special person were all i felt i had left in the world then.

good riddence - greenday this song was my most over listened to song when life was simple, i miss that way of life, and the song is all i really have to remember how it was

i could go on, basicly, i remember things by what music i was listening to at the time. I also cant listen to the tenacious D album without remembering the night i sat singing it over the phone to ash, good times eh, good times

The unnamed feeling - Metallica. mostly because of the line "found safety in this lonliness but i cannot stand it anymore"

Theres too many of them but at the moment:
Something Corporate - Hell the whole 'North' Album but in particular the tracks called "Break Myself", "I wont make you", "Only Ashes" mainly because they resemble my current mood.

Katie Melau - crawling up a hill. I like throwing it on when I'm cooking, i'm not particularilary sure why.

Savage Garden (GASP! I should probably hide my head for that one...I blame it on being australian....yes that's it...), to the moon and back, Carry on dancing and break me shake me. They where an intergral part of me getting to listen to more music. When I was...what...14? the lyrics struck a cord in me and still do now a days I think.

All of the American Rejects album... i just love it.

The corrs version of dreams

Evanescence - My immortal

and i can't be bothered opening on winamp to see what else... do you'll have to live with the cd cases that are above my desk

I like Savage Garden still. No meaning to me really, but damn catchy songs.

Nine Inch Nails - "We're in this Together" (Holy shit Josh, I got it right)

Nine Inch Nails - "The Fragile" (reminds me....of me. Blame Josh)

Lacuna Coil - "Distant Sun" (Josh)

Lacuna Coil - "Falling Again" (I don't know, it just makes me tear up when I hear it.)

Zeromancer - "Houses of Cards" (Being away for awhile.)

Type O Negative - "Love You to Death" (reminds me of Halloween and autumn. In fact a good amount of their songs do)

Danny Elfman - "Birth of the Penguin" (reminds me of snow and winter)

Opeth - "Demon of the Fall" (last year's Masquerade Ball)

Stabbing Westward - "Sometimes is Hurts" (past relationships)

Rammstein - "Amerika" (How much it can suck living here. Yes, I'm talking about the fucking elections.)

Yes, hon, you got it right. XD

Nine Inch Nails - We're in this Together (for my significant other)

Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile (again, for Dani)

Lacuna Coil - Distant Sun (This is my song. Dammit.)

Lacuna Coil - Senzafine (It's just...wow.)

Finger Eleven - Broken Words (past relationships)

Crown Jewels - Toughest Girl in the Neighborhood (past relationships as well)

Crown Jewels - Last Confession (past relationships...recurring theme, isn't it?)

From Zero - Free Without a Struggle (how hard I'm working to make my dreams come true)

Stabbing Westward - Waking up beside you (Dani, again. Heh.)

Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt (so fucking grandiose and beautiful)

Rammstein - Morgenstern (ditto)

Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way (Dani the girl is singing songs to me beneath the marquee...)

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dosed (such a sad song.)

The Beatles - In My Life (the best-written song of all time. EVER.)

Coldplay - The Scientist (Depression)

Counting Crows - Raining in Baltimore (Depression again)

Drowning Pool - Tear Away (my sadistic side)

Foo Fighters - Times like These (so fucking empowering)

I've got tons more, but these are my favorites.
