no, seriously

if he hadn't fucked up those last two movies so bad i'd probably still love star wars, but fact is i don't. I'll probably still go see 'em when they come out, but they don't some close to the originals

I think Lord of the Rings was our generation's 'star wars.' and thankfully you can't add stupid thinks, like a book 4, 5, and 6 to that.

actually I think i heard somwhere that their was an interest in doing the Hobbit. but only if all the lotr cast that applies is availible. not likely.

I think youre definatly right about lotr being our generation star wars.

it was being discussed in an old class of mine that our generation star wars was either going to be lotr or the matrix....and well we all know how the matrix turned out.

yes, pure balls.

And why do they really need that much of the old cast? you could easily use anybody for a younger bilbo, Gandalf you gotta keep, but everybody else is pretty much original characters that don't appear in Lord of the Rings.

Next generation's Star Wars is gonna be a series called 'children of the sun'

no seriously...

as you are no doubt aware star wars wins almost every poll to find the greates movie of all time, rightly so, but yeah you guys are probaly right in a few years lotr is going to take that title, but star wars is still a fucking great film, and it doesnt matter how much the prequels are fucked up, the origanal trilogy is not leasened at all

I'm not saying LotR is a better title, honestly i would say it isn't for one reason, Tolkien didn't make the movie

Lucas both wrote the books AND made the movie for the Star Wars series, so it's totaly original.. This dosn't mean it has more clout then LotR, but originality just scores more points on my critic scale then a movie based on anything.

What i was really saying is that Star Wars is a little old for our generation to call it's 'epic film' and that title clearly belongs to LotR
