There's a thread for the Hogfather, so I thought I'd make one for this.

I don't have sky so I didn't know they were showing this at easter, but I watched it recently and I thought it was great. It's really nice to see the first books done, and a refresher for me because I read them at school.

Has anyone else watched it? I was a little nervous about David Jason playing Rincewind because he should be a bit younger in these 2 books, but I think he was fantastic.

It was also a nice surprise to see Sean Astin playing Twoflower, I wasn't expecting to see him in it. He must be a fan of the books.

Rincewind?

I haven't even heard of the books or anything else related as far as I know.

But the name Rincewind sounds very very familiar.

While I liked it, I hated the way they decided to tell the story. They blended the two books into one story, instead of it being two stories following on from one and other.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. The fact that it was 2 books made it great for a 2 parter though, with the cliffhanger at the end of the first. It's been a long time since I read the books but from what I remember it is pretty much one story, like the Lord of the Rings trilogy is one story.
