He who gets slapped (1924)
http://imdb.com/title/tt0014972/ IMDB

I mentioned this before...
awesome silent flick

those with Coulrophobia (fear of clowns) need not apply.
(but you should...it'll be like a silent horror film)

ofcourse I'm almost a Coulrophile, so you cant trust me.

Google video (less hassle)

that was even better than i remembered.
shit load of symbolism there.

if this torrent will speed the hell up I can get watching on

the man who laughed (1928)

torrent

This is the movie that influenced the creation of The Joker in batman.
It may just be coincidence... but if you check Conrad Veidt's makeup against the makeup that Heath Ledger is wearing in the new batman movie, its virtually the same.

worth the wait.

in some shots the joker resemblance is too uncanny.

however the character and the joker are nothing at all alike...except that they both have a permanent smile by unfortunate means.

this movie had a happy ending. I didn't really like that. considering the my first encounter with the story was via dark graphic novel which had a very grim ending.
and i think i read that the original novel has yet another ending.

theirs clowns in this too...
that was unexpected.
