What's a good anime worth purchasing?

Ah, the idiot box, our childhood companion/minder let us speak of your marvellous ways and bask in your shiny technicolour.

I don't know what you're into but here's one hot off the presses. Karin. I was downloading it from Anime Empire but then it was licensed by Geneon for an English release so, as always, Anime Empire stopped subtitling it and withdrew the downloads. Geneon only have episodes 1-4 available right now so I'll need to wait a while until I can start getting the ones I haven't seen. Anyway, it's a bit silly but really funny. Maybe not what you're into though. It's about this teen girl vampire who produces blood instead of sucking it.

The first one made my head hurt and was prolly the most retarded thing I've seen in a long time, it made no fucking sense (and not even the the usual 'good' way).

Guyver: Bio Boosted Armour
Macross Zero
Wolf's Rain
Jin'Roh: The Wolf brigade

Is the ones I'd vote for, Guvyer Bio Boosted is actually a complete series this time that even finishes it arcs rather than leave them and end the series on a ?? note. Guyver III was less awesome than he used to be but he still rocked.

Macross Zero is still the prettiest anime I've ever seen.

Wolf's Rain, makes little sense but it's got wolves action galore .. how could I not love it

Jin'Roh, it's a little strange and lack action for 80% of it but it's just a nice show .... loved it .. need to watch it again.

There's alot that you can watch for free on YouTube.
Or you can get Utorrent and DL that way.
Like Naruto, Bleach, etc.

MSN groups is good for free manga.
I have Death Note zipped too if you're interested.

Yeah, screw paying $100 or more for boxed sets. Instead invest in a high speed internet connection for $50 a month and get thousands of dollars worth of anime for free. All the shit is still overpriced if you ask me. Most DVDs are selling for $5-15 these days, but Anime is still at a premium of $20-30 a DVD, even with the glut of anime on the market.

My problem with it is, they like to release series DVD's as 3 Episodes a DVD at £20 a pop, for a 26 episode series that's a lil' pricey.
