i'd read them in order of publication the first time, just because that's the way they were meant to be read.

I wasn't all that impressed, they flew over the detail imo and feel the BBC series did a bettter job at displaying the emotion better ... which is saying something

I'm just going to quote my LJ.
So yeah... I saw Chronicles of Narnia today... [Dec. 9th, 2005|11:29 pm]

Granted the only book of that series that I've ever read was "The Magician's Nephew"... so I'm not entirely sure about this... but I thinkt hey crammed the entire series... EXCEPT the book I read... into a 2 hour and 20 minute movie...

It's funny... in several cases... the movie wants to to actually care about the characters and there deaths or whatever... Except they haven't had enough dialog or screen time for me give even a slight damn...

About the only character I cared about was peter (horrible name) and the lion...

Oh... and Jason who is over my shoulder as I type this... brings up a great point... the fucking vibe you get between peter and the older sister... whatever her name was... There is SUCH a fucking incest vibe... It does NOT go well with the story...

Over all... I give it a 4 out of 10...

If it were done right... I would be a 8 or 9... but they simply rushed it TO fucking hard...
I later found out it wasn't the entire series... which made me feel a little bit sadder about the movie...

I kinda liked it.
compared to the other versions i seen of it. this felt the least generic.

and the wolves were awsome.

and how can you not like a beaver in armor....

unless the armor is a chastity belt and the beaver is well....

Why are they making Prince Caspian straight after? Don't they know The Magician's Nephew was the first book in The Chronicles of Narnia? Bedides the the next book after The Lion, The Witch and Thw Wardrobe is The Horse and it's Boy. I think Hollywood is loosing out.

Maybe its actually their sneaky little way of encouraging the younger audience to read.

It'll confuse the kids. Half of them think The LW&W is the first book.
