Well, there are a few things I'd like to address with this topic, but the first question I pose to all of you is what Anime made the best transition from Japan in your belief, or what was your favorite Americanized anime?

Come to think about it, I think Gundam Wing a few years ago was the most enjoyable anime experience I've had in a long time. It was lengthy, good characters, great animation, and the voice acting (or over acting I should say), was still pretty good. What do you all think?

Personally... I hate Gundum Wing...

As for what anime made the best transition...

I can't really anser that... I don't really read subtitles, nor do I watching TV... so yeah... I don't really notice anything really.

Why Don't you just say "Transformers" Will? Geez, it's like staring you straight in the face! And it's not like you've ever seen the Japanese version of Transformers . . . I think that answers that question.

anime has american youth wanting to learn and emulate japanese culture when it would be more useful for them to learn latin culture.

chances of me having to speak japanese on a average day: slim to none..mostly none
chances of me having to speak spanish : 45%?

I dislike anime for the fact, its everywhere. It spawns people who go out, buy DOA because its anime...But and love FFVII, because its anime. Seen a Japanese guy and harass him because hes Japanese. Its annoying, to say the least.

Chances of me speaking Japanese on any given day -20%
Chances of me speaking Japanese on any given day after July 23rd - 100%

I'm actually heading over to Japan to teach English to the kiddos over there. I wonder if American movies and slutty pop stars make the Japanese kids want to learn English, instead of trying to take Chinese where the real money is going to be at in the future . . .

You're right though Kaos. There are tons of kids who think all that Japanese culture is is anime, manga, and video games. However, they dont realize that it's just as dorky over there to like some of those things after a certain age as it is over here (minus the manga of course). I on the other hand, was more interested in the travel and history aspect of Japan than I was devoted to the anime and video game culture . . . not saying that the later was a bad thing now . . come on ...
