No, the FFVI Magic System was the best, had a way better way to learn magic, because you accually LEARNED IT, in VII the materia learned the magic, which I think is bunk. If I spend time learning the magic.. then my person should have access to it at ANYTIME not just when they have the stupid materia equipped, and mastering the bitches takes too much time. Then to have magic effect a group.. you have to have the 'ALL' Materia connected to it, which again is bull.

well from what i've seen of AC, it looks close enough of a hybrid to me

i mean compared to stuff like 'spirits' which strived for total realizim and did a frightningly good job of pulling it off.

no, AC isn't a hybrid at all... it's shooting for realism

if you haven't played xenosaga, go look it up, that's closer to what i personally would want.

I like where FFVIII went. Even if i'm not 100% crazy about the graphics...it's the plot and storyline that's got to drag you in

It's why I play all my old school games.
