I'm slightly confused about what this is. YouTube says it's some technology test. I recognise the music from FFVI but that's about it.

This is an old PSX demo that came out after FFVI. Why are we seeing this again?

Its what everybody thought was the next FF.

Its a final fantasy techdemo for n64 back from the days when N64 and PSX werent out just yet.

anyway, this techdemo is why most people were convinced that the next FF game was going to be on nintendo. and shocked as hell when it was on PSX.

shocked the hell outta me too, cuzz I saw parts of this demo on TV somewere. backthen and read about it in a few magazines.

some people, myself included, got an n64 thinking that the next FF was coming out on it.
few months later I was at a friends house watching him play FF7 on his PSX.

He named all the characters after himself and friends.
Cloud = Greg
Barret = Johnny
Tifa = Lavita

I used to do it too in previous FF games, but after seeing sombody else do it, and how silly it looked. Never again.

I forgot how long it was between the release of the PSX and FFVII. I was thinking the N64 hadn't come out yet but of course it had. Heh.

Why not? It's not uncommon for someone like Squaresoft to dabble with new machines to see what they're like.
