I tend to eat fairly fibrous cereals rather than sugary ones.

We don't do the candied cereal to the detrimental effects that I saw in the US. Who the hell thought putting candy in cereal made it nutritional? You guys and your candied flakes. Eating AMERICAN cereal would be bad for you any time of day.

Your carbs are digested in the Upper digestive tract, your protein in the stomache and the fat is broken down in the small intestine. So are you suggesting that the only part that works are the enzymes during rest? That doesn't really make sense. True amalase breaks down the sugars and that's pretty much done in the early part of eating so really it should be done fairly shortly after you finish eating the meal. But it won't get absorbed until later... until EVERYTHING have been digested in the stomache. The pyloric sphincter doesn't go... hmm it's night time must let that half digested bite of steak go through even though i haven't broken it down properly.

Considering how the villi work and that's what absorbs the nutrients i don't think the body discriminates over the types of nutrients it absorbs, also metabolising suggests actual using of said nutrients which isn't necessarily a given. Unless the facilitated transfer of certain more complex molecules isn't achieved as effiency due to the amount of ATP involved.

Now look what you've freaking done, I don't EVEN CARE about this. I eat late dinner all the time... it's the only way in which I eat.

LOL James I know it's my fault... but at least your getting fibre, complex carbs aren't bad for you really and your getting milk! When you don't have bone disease once you get really old you'll have me to thank :P

I still remember Lesley's reaction when she found out that we have "Cookie Crisp" cereal in America.

Didn't your sisters ask you to bring back a load of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?
