That'd be flawed instantly, though. A hangover is a lack of water and a low blood sugar. The only real cure for 'zee angovre' is to start drinking bottled water at about 2am...then get a nice fat dirty kebab for the sugar content.

Well actually you'd be better off drinking water/ soft drink as you where drinking alcohol to keep yourself hydrated through the night, eat a solid meal somewhere before or between the drinking (eating to late at night is bad for you because the body doesn't digest food well whilst you are asleep), drink water or even better some sort of sports drink (to replace electrolytes) before going to bed. then eat a good solid breakfast in the morning.
well to my understanding, when you go to sleep your metabolism slows down, alot of the organs and stuff you don't really need slow down which isn't a problem, but if the digestion system is running it takes quite alot of energy. The only organ in your body that stores glycogen (complex version of glucose) for use by the rest of the body is the liver. It's only got a finite store of glycogen that is meant to last you the whole night, but if you've draining it by digesting your depriving your body of the sugars you need as you sleep and straining your liver.
That's off gained by the absorbtion of the nutrients etc from the digestive process but because your not doing any strenous metabolic activity all that excess sugar etc will go towards making fat.
That's my fuzzy understanding of it.

I've actually heard that because the body is operating at a lower level, only the easiest parts of the food to digest are actually metabolized by the body. Those being simple sugars and the like. That's not very healthy either, especially if you're eating cereal, which tends to have a pretty high amount of sugar.
