Mainly Blur and Mirror's Edge. The 360 has really been a change of scenery for me.

Mass effect 2
splintercell conviction
red dead redemption

those are the last games I've played to 'play'

I've played a shitload since those, but I'm playing the for research.

What made you get a 360?
Kinect?

Final Fantasy XIII to the halfway point.
The Persona games they're rated mature if you play them you will see why there.
Can't wait for P3P to come out next month I'll get it even If I have to bounce a check.j/k

I really love my PSP I was playing super off road on the SNES with it the other day. That and super punch out.
Myimar chronicles and Hexyz force I also play breath of fire 4 with remote play on my PS3.

The DS I play Devil Survivor and suikoden DS.

You would be surprised how many people will give you broken stuff with absolutely nothing wrong with it. A guy I worked with gave me a PS3 because it got hot. All it needed was a new cord apparently they were sold that way. I was gave a broken pinball machine I still haven't figured out what's wrong with it but it was free. It's in the pinball hall of fame so if all else fails I'll sell it for parts.

Marna. She was bored.

But do you mean as opposed to the PS3? I was under the impression that hardware aside, the 360 was really top dog. Since then, I've seen that the gap may be smaller than I thought but I'm still happy with my choice. In theory, the Kinect should kick the Move's ass but I don't think it'll live up to the hype. The cracks are already starting to show.

Marna was playing FFXIII but she's fed up with it. I guess I can see why but I hear it's worth perservering. She loved Red Dead Redemption but just stopped short of finishing it because she doesn't want it to end. She's only ever finished about three games so it's quite an achievement.

The graphics are great but it doesn't let you do much at first it just kinda pulls you through what they want. You can't go anywhere or do anything extra can't gain more levels till the halfway point. Pretty good story line though.

I though the similar control methods wii and kinect influenced the buy.
I like the potential of kinect but so far not a single appealing title.

When red dead looks like it's about to end... It's not.

She should see it through. I thought the ending was fucking great!
But more fore industry reasons than story ones.

I've been avoiding ff13 nothing about it seems to really grab me. And then with the things I've heard of it. I just don't want to be dissapointed.

I'm going to freeze myself for portal2.
Hopefully I can find a non idiot to co op with.

They just look like Wii-a-likes, probably because it's not accurate for anything "serious".

The Kinect isn't really aimed at you, that's probably why it's not appealing.

Executives aren't stupid, they go where the money is and the Wii has outsold the far superior machines on 2 main selling points, price and peripheral device.

Considering that their machines (360 and Ps3) had standard development costs and in some cases they already price dumped the shit out of their consoles they can't really beat was is essentially two gamecubes taped together. As the natural fall in price brings them closer to the magic 'fuck it I can have 2' state, it's less of a issue anyway.

The killer app of this generation has been the wii controller, I'm suprised it's taken this long for them to come up with something that won't get them sued.

Johnny what is your opinion/rating of Mass Effect 2? Quite a few people who have played both Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 say that the latter game is ALOT better.

The two games are very similar.

But I wouldn't agree that that Mass Effect is ALOT better.

Theirs a few major differences...

The most obvious...
You're trading the standard Tolkien type fantasy world, elves, dragons, wizards, etc...
for something that's nearly the direct opposite of that. aliens, robots and the vastness of space.

The MAJOR difference in the two games comes from the narrative.
Mass Effect has a much stronger Narrative than Dragon Age.
But a stronger narrative doesn't mean better in the case of games.

Because the narrative of DragonAge is looser, you have a lot more more freedom, especially in deciding who your character is and the choices they can make.
Mass Effect by contrast has less freedom, but it is also a whole lot easier to become engrossed in its story.

You'll have less input over Shepard than you do with the Warden. but both games still create unique personal experiences, so it doesn't actually feel any less personal.

The other big difference...is that mass effect plays like an FPS.
most people might say that's actually the major difference...but personally I think that's just a surface issue.
If you're not familiar with FPS gameplay, I could see it being a minor problem, because all combat is dependent on it.
But don't worry, you don't need to be on any Halo leader boards or some crap...you just gotta know the basics.
A working knowledge of when to use a shotgun and when to use a rifle will suffice.
I assume you know how to use a boomstick.

So I wouldn't say it was better at all.
I'd say its about the same.
For everything it offers that Dragon Age cant do...Dragon Age in turn offers something it cant do.

But I will say, that if you don't play it, you're missing out on something good.
especially if you liked Dragon Age.

and I'll add that I hope that if they continue the Mass Effect series after Mass Effect 3..that I hope the 4th game is pretty much exactly like Dragon Age. Mass Effect has some cool alien races, its a real shame that you don't get to play as any of them.

also...
I dont think playing through ME1 is a prerequisite.
it helps...but you dont NEED it.
ME2 does a pretty decent job of catching you up.

I've only played the first 3 hours of ME1.

Oh its defiantly a game I think you should get on board with James.
I think you'll take a good bit of interest in one of its core themes.

Id say its the best game in recent memory that does a fantastic job of crafting a well fleshed out universe.
Going through the archives on each the species of the universe feels almost like going through Wikipedia.
I cant think of many other games that feel like they have that kind of depth.

You guys know They recently released a Demo, right?
