600,000 between 12/18 and 12/25 actually. 500,000 the week before, and 400,000 the week before that. Worldwide, the DS is at about 13+ million. I think the PSP is hovering around 2.7. >_>Xanien wrote:Just heard that the Nintendo DS sold somewhere around 400,000 units here in Japan for the Xmas season. I wonder how many PSPs were sold. Both were hot, but I think far more people were asking for a DS. Something big is gonna happen ... Nintendo is going to be back on top again soon, or at least a lot closer than the 15% of the market they have now.
PSP or DS?

seemed like a good idea at the time, and they kicked ass in the arcades, it just never took off
the system specs were great for its time though, definatly the best system, but it had a serious library issue. Sure it had a few good games (samurai showdown) but nothing really good enough for it to be worth picking up.

I don't own either but I've played both of them. PSP seems alright with how many extras that are involved with it, where as the DS seems more like a strict gaming system. I've always trusted nintendo though, they make products that usually last forever, I still have my first NES in still near-mint condition.
Sony, being a huge international company would have to make cheap products to make more profit. my ps2 is a decent system but it's pretty cheap, so I don't really have high hopes for the PSP's durability. with so many extra features on it I think it would have to take from something else.

First off, the DS has WiFi capabilty and has had it from the start, well before the PSP.
Nah, your wrong about that. PSP had Wifi first. i remember nintendo announcing that they'll be putting in WiFi at the E3 event in may 2005.(believe thats the month of the event) long after the psp's release. I had a PSP since it's release day and used the WiFi on the games i baught to play multiplayer.
I like the psp, good graphics, good games, get to browse the net, play mp3's(also download while your on the net), already has hundreds of UMD movies you can buy for a cheap price.
DS seems like an ok handheld. most of the games just doesn't interest me. those final fantasy games i can just buy the the ps2 for a cheap price.
