final fantasy IV is my favorite, though in actuality it's final fantasy II. o.0 they re-named it IV for some odd reason when it was released in the states... mmeh.

6. I haven't played much of the others but enough to know that 6 rocks the most. Most people seem to think so anyway.

5 was merely FF filler . . . 4 was too short. FF6 was freaking FF in all it's creamy goodness. I loved that game. The music, the amount of characters you could play as, the weapons (Atma Weapon anybody?), and of course the story.
And 4 was 4. I and II were released on the NES. Playstation rereleased them as FF Origins. FF3 has never come out here. You knew this already though, right?

I love four. I adore its story and unbalanced characters.
Six beats it in my mind.

I agree with mog. I have fond memories of IV, having bought it as soon as I got a SNES. I think VI is better though. Denser, more complex, darker. Like good beer.

i think 4 hits my number 3 spot
6 wins
7 comes in second
and my first ff was actually the first ff, which is a great game in it's own right. I played them a little out of order, but still, good stuff.
