i've said it before, and i'll say it again

TSW would have gotten a lot more respect from EVERYBODY if it didn't have the Final Fantasy title.

Yes, it would have.

However people are retarded FF is not just about Fire3 spells, summons and dudes with stupid hair.

It's about group of people against something seemingly over their heads yet they manage to pull through. A female lead and her Knight and about the concept of life, death and rebirth.

However because Amano didn't do all the CG work (OMG that would be awful) and the where no stupid black mages with daft hats and no faces they saught reason to bitch and whine without ever WATCHING the film.

but where are bypassing the point.

Never a huge fan of oddworld and I wouldn't go to see the movie tbh.

It's more then that

FF's are NEVER about earth (that was huge) they ALWAYS have magic of some kind, and there's usualy SOMETHING in it that lets you know it's FF related, other then just the name Cid. The FF related items in the movie seemed like they were added as afterthoughts or stupid hidden things only gamers would notice, rather then actually being relevant to the story. It was a fine movie as it was, and the FF things, like the name Cid and the chocobo on the suitcase would have been quite clever as little things hidden for fans to find, but as the only thing tying the movie to the games it supposedly is related to, it was a poor choice.

back on topic, I was never a huge Oddworld fan either, but i did play a couple of games. I personally don't understand why they were such big hits, they were ok as far as i was concerned. They definatly were't totaly original ideas, rather ideas taken from several other games and combined. I'm not saying it wasn't good, i just didn't 'love' it

I probably wouldn't see the movie in theaters, i'd rent it. But that's mostly because seeing ANY video game related movie these days is risking throwing your money down the toilet.

funny. I got the impression that most FF's took place on earth.

or that they atleast reffered to it as earth ingame.

ff11 however clearly has a name for the planet its on.

I've always had the impresssion all FF's have been on either Gaia or an in-game named world. Such as Spira.

I dont remember gaia ever.

I always took them to be alternate universe versions of the same world
