I know there is a "new posts" button, however, on a forum I frequent we have a latest posts thing at the bottom of the page. Which is rather useful.

Tangible or not?

I know, but there's a few new (old) faces and they're checking back pretty consistantly. This latest posts thing also means you don't have to load any new pages to see if anything has been updated.

It's just a suggestion. I keep looking for one at the bottom of the page and then remembering where I am :P

Yes, keep the chewi monkey working. He must add more pointless stuff to the forums for us.

? I can see your point, but it's not really that much extra work doing it the way we are now is it?

There is for vB....

EDIT:

I've not had to use IPB for a fair while now. I reckon there will be.

You going to upgrade this to 2.1 or not? IPB + AJAX ftw.

There's no information loss. There's probably a risk, but a smart person takes a back-up of the database before hand. Which in the unlikly event that James doesn't know how to reinstate a back-up. I'm at hand to talk him through it. Fuck me, that'd be a change.

The main shit would be the skin. There's some added extras in 2.1. But it's seriously a case of adding some code to the existing CSS and then colouring it neatly. Nothing too strenuous.

Heh I'd forgotten we had that one. I'm not even sure if it still works. Like Matt says, this one had to be fixed after the upgrade.

It looks exactly the same to me. None the less I'm excited ya'll still kept it up, even if ya had to edit it.
