I'm way stoked because I finally have a passenger side window again! Only been 6 months... damn Volkswagen.

And I'd really like to know what a hot girl in her underwear on the background of this commercial has to do with getting a car loan? I mean seriously, wtf? If that doesn't say "rape you in the ass" scam then I don't know what does....

I'm seriously annoyed at my boyfriends sleep schedule. Well, his lack of one.

And I have a headache and kind of feel like I could cry. With no rhyme or reason.

AHAHAH, That's fucking Epic, J - I was drinking Powerade myself and fucking spat all over my laptop. It's one of the Bloodsport movies he did, I think.

I've been alright though, just getting over both storms working Emergency Response. Going to be one hell of a paycheck next week though.

And here's one to add onto GIF Epicness

I finally tried linux.

but I cant really use it online.
the process for getting my network card working seems to be way over my head.
process for getting my video card looks equally complicated.

It sounds like it's wired rather than wireless, in which case it really should be just a case of plugging it in. I haven't seen a wired network card fail to work in a very long time. Even wireless should be pretty straight forward on the easier distros now since a new batch of open source drivers has recently appeared in the standard Linux kernel. It's the closed source ones that usually require some extra work to setup. I've had some trouble with wireless in Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex but it's an Alpha prerelease and they've totally changed the wireless stuff since the last release so that's forgivable. Video usually only requires extra work if you have an NVIDIA card and you want 3D acceleration. That's partially NVIDIA's fault for not releasing a (good) open source driver like ATI/AMD has and partially the Linux community's fault for being a bit overzealous by usually not including the closed source one as standard. I've voted with my feet and chosen ATI/AMD this time.

Which distro and version did you try anyway?

Ubuntu.
I still have it.
I used Wubi.

I got a wireless usb network adapter. I think i found some stuff for it. but its all fuckin greek to me on how to use it.

same for the nvidia card. nvidia had something, but fuck if i know how to use it.

is nothing click&go in linux?

plugging straight in with a Ethernet cable is impossible now without taking another pc off the grid. besides. I'm on wireless because it stopped working in the first place. why I don't know.

You'll probably have more luck with the next one but it doesn't officially come out for another month. What make and model is the adapter?

I looked up about the NVIDIA card. Apparently it's very easy these days. I thought it was much harder. Just realised you'll probably need a net connection for it to download the driver first though.
Go to System->Administration->Hardware Drivers and check the box to enable the restricted drivers for your NVIDIA card if the option is provided.
