Do we really 'need' plot twists as often as they appear?
These things are just so damn predictable now, and some of then ruin a whole project and just make it silly.
Is it so bad to have a project that doesn't include some kind a of plot twist in the story line?
sometimes I don't think people understand that plot twists are actually optional writing devices, rather than required ones.
oooh itsa Plot twist!
Re: oooh itsa Plot twist!
I suppose they see it as some way of making a story less predictable but in doing so, actually make it more so. There are other ways to introduce the unexpected.
Re: oooh itsa Plot twist!
I have to agree with Chewi, it's becoming so predictable to expect the "unpredictable" these days. More and more films that are coming out I'm thinking "yeah, this shit will happen", everyone wants to make movies now with plot twists like The Sixth Sense or Inside Man. But hello! We know what's gonna happen coz it's so friggin obvious!
However, another reason, but probably off topic is spoilers. When a new movie comes out you nearly always get spoilers from some stupid fucktard. Please! Stop ruining my movie! This is one reason why I'm watching more chick flicks now -_- Sorry for my slight overuse of !
