The Accommodation Situation

I'll be living in college accommodation next year. Being a 4th year student returning from Europe, I had the highest priority when it came to choosing a room. I chose P6L. Seemed like a nice spot. So of course, that's the room I was given. But after checking the list, I realised two very strange things. Not only am I living next door to the same girl I lived next door to in the first year but I'm also the only guy on my floor. :blink: I've got my Becky so this freaks me out more than it makes me drool.

But I just took the time to work out the probability of this. I'm not the best mathematician in the world, especially not these days but these are the figures I got...

Probability of living next to Suzie again = 0.8%
Probability of being the only guy on my floor = 0.08%
Probability of both of these things happening at the same time = 0.001%

I'm going to ask one of the mathematicians when I get back. That's some pretty freaky shit. And that's not even taking into account the fact that I had to choose that room in the first place. If all rooms had an equal chance of being picked by me, you could divide all those by about 250 though perhaps that's a tad unrealistic. Still. Fucking weird.

well at least your not the only girl with loadsa guys. you thought what Paul told you was funny, about last night *really wants to punish her right 6006!* I remember at Cindy's, she had a party and it was all guys (she's no slapper the only girl mate she has is me! but she cannot trust girls at all). I was wearing a pathetic metallic boob tube and no bra!. Something had been spilt on the floor I slipped and my top somehow managed to reveal the twins.

I made this thread because I was bored and decided to work out the probability. I also made it because half the people round here have gone braindead and don't seem to have anything to talk about anymore.
