One of my favourite paintings is "Sokkin No Bushitachi" by Kent Williams seen here http://kentwilliams.blogspot.com/2007/0 ... ition.html

Anyway, I've always wanted to know what the title was. I can't seem to get a decent translation. All those language translation sites don't wield results. Since you all seem like such a bright bunch I was hoping maybe someone might be able to translate it for me. I think it's Japanese. Thanks.

Well, Xanien speaks Japanese I think, when he saunters in, he might be able to.

What an odd picture. I really don't know what to make of it.

I'll ask my girlfriend Wednesday when I see her. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I know the "no" part means "of".?????????? might be how you spell it, but without the proper kanji I can't help you. I suck at reading it all romanized. I can only tell you what it is if I see the actual characters.

(Edit: I guess you still can't view Japanese on these forums)

I thought I fixed that. It must be because the database tables aren't in UTF-8 format. I don't want to risk changing that now. I'll make sure it's UTF-8 if we ever move to phpBB3.

I can't really say. The visuals in this just click for me. A lame explanation but it's all I can come up with. I like traditional paintings moreso than digital, just a preference, I wouldn't consider myself a connoisseur in this kind of stuff.

I'd love to see this one in person, however I think Robin Williams actually owns it. I might be wrong on that though.

Xanien, thanks. If you get an answer I'll owe you beer.
