I didn't even think that was an option? On Marna's, all the usernames are in bold.

Heh that is something Ed hasn't got...patience! He's got a very basic knowledge of CSS as in "what it stands for" hehe.

The biggest problem he is having skinning is that he wants it match his website. He's doing tea at the moment, but he will psot what he means.

Ok then so Phorum is just not worth messing with. So it's back to Fusion which seem to offer exactly what i'm looking for, minus the wysiwig editor :(

Here is the general style im going with for my website.

and this is where i have got to with fusion

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/ ... /forum.gif

all the information between the header and footer needs to be split into 3 columns to fit into the background images of my site but i cant figure out how to change the table layouts within fusion and the offical forums are all based on changing pics not table layouts.

Yep. You can trust me to always want to do things diffweerently to everyone else :P

Now i just need to remember everything i've changed and make a note of it.

Am not a big fan on CMS sites. I can never find the addons i want lol compaired to like IPB, VB and phpbb.

I tried a few of them, mostly for some clan sites. As there quick and easy to set up.

But yea like the design!

I think everyone has there preferences...and since Ed is a newb to things like this he's found Fusion to be better.

For a newb, Ed picks it up rather well. I just fake my way, but PHP and CSS confuses the hell out of me :P

I love the forum too, it's DRENCHED in purple like Vimto or Ribena, hehe.

You'll never catch me using WYSIWYG. I want to know exactly what my code is doing. I'm afraid I can't agree with Mik's assertion that CSS is easy. I know it like the back of my hand but I also know what a total bitch it can be, especially when IE is involved.

Not when one cannot focus on anything at one thing at a time. Like what Crystal does. I only take bits I know here and there and use them for profiles and what not. But James is right, when it comes to IE, CSS is a bitch. On firefox I have add-ons that make CSS a breeze.

Always, we can't all have the brains that you have Matt :P

I wouldn't go as far as to say i prefer wysiwig, im well aware of the amount of un-needed tags, spacers and other general rubbish that many of the editors include but as im only really familiar with HTML4 and below there is quite a lot for me to take on board in one go.

From where i'm sitting atm its like someones taken CSS, added to that php and mysql then thrown them all into a maze of files and folders that link to each other like the tree lights from christmas.

All in all i'm amazed that ive managed to achieve my goal with only one problem and there is a less than satisfactory work around for that.

Now if i can just find some free webspace i can start putting it all together for inital testing.

Any ideas guys???

Unfortunately you don't get much for free these days. But you can get a lot for less than say £10 a year. Maybe even £5.
