I dont' think i really had a problem with you Raf.

Mik is right though. You shouldn't ban people because they are disliked, it's not enough of a reason.

Banning people should be because they have broken rules.

Well, I'm sad to say that I was serious about banning disliked people, but only because the other board I post at, a gaming board full of industry developers and journalists, has almost nothing but people in their late 20s and older, and works so damned well because antisocials there ARE banned. I was even banned myself for handing out invites to a music torrent site, but I talked my way out of it.

But I wouldn't be so quick to ban any old "assholes." I mean, I'd be very selective. KLoWn, for example, is a great guy, who's very smart, though he's fallen back into his old persona for posting on the board itself. I wouldn't ban him, or someone like him, especially because this topic he made was awesome: http://forums.ffalpha.net/showthread.php?t=377 . I'm just talking about someone who consistently detracted from the board, and added nothing.

That's fair enough, as Mik said, it's your board and you can do whatever the hell you want with it.

Personally I have no problem with that. I really couldn't care less one way or the other *shrugs*

Isn't that favouritism shown to family relatives, especially in a workplace?

I don't agree, and I don't see a lot of KloWn hate on the board either, aside from xanien :).

I understand the policy and as long as you are unilateral with it, you shouldn't have many problems, other than the usual bitching, but with a large member pool you can get away with breaking a few eggs.

lol I go to Elitist Jerks and you could get banned there for making enough spelling errors at one point (you still get told of). But your gonna run into problems with banning peoples friends and not banning your own for the same thing, it's caused me enough problems in the past, but your 'I don't give a fuck' attitude should serve you well enough.

Good luck :P

I'd check it out but court order prevents me from becoming any more of an asshole than I am and I would feel compelled to be for old times sake.

Joking is one thing, especially with your friends, but I find it wrong to go up to somebody you don't know and telling them to "eat my cum" for example.

If it was friend's messing around, fine, but have some common decency. I'm not against people being an idiot and joking around, but keep it all in your circle of friends. Respect that some people are different from you. If you really don't want a tightly wound person there, and think that I will not contribute positively to the site, ban me. Personally, having unchecked anti social behavior will kill a forum like Alpha after a while. That's what happened last time. The people who didn't care for that crap left and then the people who always messed around and got bored and stopped posting. Am I right?
