I bought one of those new iMacs the other days and I'm having problems getting a strong wifi signal to the computer. I checked out Apple's support forums and it sounds like there were a few other people who had problems with there Airport Extreme Wifi internet, and somebody suggested changing the wireless channel on their router to fix it (he said it worked for him). But Do I have any fucking idea how to change the wireless channel on my router? Hells no. I don't even know how to access my router from either computer, so I'm hoping somebody would know how to access it and how to change the wireless channel. If nobody knows, I guess I could always call up Apple or YahooBB . . .

Hope one of you geniuses can help me out.

That's because it can vary from one router to the next but it's usually 192.168.1.1. It may well ask you for a name and password. That's usually admin/admin. If that doesn't work, tell us the make and model of the router. If you still have the instructions, this information should be pretty clear.

192.168.0.1, 192.168.100.1 there are few depending on the router defaults.

I changed Aura's router to 192.168.1.100. There is a reason behind it but now all the ISP support guys who come round (they come round a lot) can never find it until they call me. And that's just the way I like it. :D

Thanks. The internet is working for the moment, but as soon as something like that happens again, I'll use your magic numbers. Hopefully they work.
